I have found a backhoe attachement for $1.500 from a private party. I am wondering if this is worth it...we are just shopping for a tractor now and will most likely purchase a B2710 Kubota. The backhoe is an ARPS 80, three point hitch type. The hydraulics look good. It is not great looking hoe (missing the seat and the pins are a little loose) but the thing that has me concerned is a 3 inch long crack through the steel near the pivot point (elbow?) in the boom. Can this be fixed with welding? If so does the price seem fair?Sorry I can't be more specific...I don't know a lot about this type of equipment and could really use your help and need to know quickly. Thanks so much,Connie Little

Sounds seriously abused to me. By the time you stop putting money into it, I would bet you could have bought at least a good used one (maybe a new one?). I would stay clear even if the price looks attractive at the moment. Get your tractor and then look around for a decent used one - they are out there, sometimes it takes a little looking. ....

Sounds scary to me. Unless I was qualified to make the repairs myself (as in good welder with experience in these areas) I wouldn't want to get involved. As the other person here mentioned it does sound abused. ....

Thanks guys for your input, you probably saved us a lot of grief. We were very lucky and found a used Kubota hoe the same day. Twice the price but it's in great shape. Thanks again.Connie ....
